Composition and form of release:
Active ingredient: Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg \ 1 ml
Nasal drops as a clear, colorless solution, plastic bottle.
Pharmachologic effect:
A vasoconstrictor for topical use in ENT practice. When applied to mucous membranes, it causes vasoconstriction, as a result of which local hyperemia and edema decrease. With rhinitis, it makes nasal breathing easier.
Do not use the drug in children without specialist advice for more than 5 days in order to avoid atrophy of the nasal mucosa.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion in chronic, year-round and acute rhinitis (including allergic and associated with flowering), sinusitis.
Contraindications
-Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
-Patients after removal of the pituitary gland or other surgical interventions on the brain in history.
— Children under 6 years old.
Side effects
With frequent and / or prolonged use: irritation of the mucous membrane, burning, tingling, sneezing, dry nasal mucosa, hypersecretion.
Rarely: swelling of the nasal mucosa (more often with prolonged use), palpitations, cardiac arrhythmias, increased blood pressure, headache, vomiting, sleep disorders, visual impairment.
With long-term use in high doses: depressive state.
