Composition
Each tablet contains:
Pioglitazone 15 mg
Metformin hydrochloride 500mg
Auxiliary components:
hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), sodium carmellose, povidone, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, calcium hydrogen phosphate, talc, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, sodium croscarmellose.
Properties
Pioglitazone. Oral hypoglycemic agent. Reduces the insulin resistance of peripheral and liver tissues, which leads to increased insulin-dependent glucose uptake by tissues and decreased hepatic glucose synthesis. Pioglitazone is a potent selective agonist of peroxisome proliferator-activated gamma receptors (PPAR). Activation of nuclear receptors for PPAGR simulates the transcription of a number of insulin-sensitive genes that are involved in glucose control and lipid metabolism.
Metformin. An oral hypoglycemic agent use to treat type Il diabetes. Reduces the concentration of cholesterol and trialvcerl
in blood plasma, increases the concentration of free fatty acids and glycerol.
Indications

Contraindications

Precautions:
Side effects
from the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, diarrhea, pain in the stomach, constipation, vomiting, metallic taste in the mouth. Reactions disappear when the dose is reduced
Dermatological reactions: rash, urticaria, erythema, skin redness.
Others: headache, dizziness, fluid retention and weight gain, risk of fractures, lactic acidosis; hypoglycemia.
