Properties
Adapalene is a retinoid metabolite, has comedonolytic and anti-inflammatory activity, normalizes the processes of keratinization and epidermal differentiation. The mechanism of action of adapalene is based on interaction with specific receptors of epidermal skin cells. As a result of the action of adapalene, in particular, there is a decrease in the «cohesion» of epithelial cells at the mouth of the sebaceous hair follicle and a decrease in the prerequisites for the formation of microcomedones. Adapalene has an anti-inflammatory effect in vivo and in vitro, acting on inflammatory factors by inhibiting the migration of leukocytes in the focus of inflammation and the metabolism of arachidonic acid.
Indications
Treatment of acne.
Dosage and administration
With a light touch, evenly apply the gel to the affected surface once a day before going to bed on clean, dry skin, avoiding contact with eyes and lips.
The therapeutic effect develops after 4-8 weeks of treatment, stable improvement after 3 months of treatment.
In some cases, due to short-term skin irritation, the number of applications may be reduced or treatment may be suspended until signs of irritation disappear.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients of the drug.
Warnings and precautions:
Avoid getting the gel in the eyes, lips and mucous membranes.
Side effects
Irritation of the skin (treatment should be suspended until the disappearance of skin irritation or reduce the frequency of application).
