Seroxat CR

Composition

Each tablet contains:

paroxetine 12.5 mg

Auxiliary components: calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.

Properties

Antidepressant, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It has a bicyclic structure that is different from that of other known antidepressants.

It has an antidepressant and anxiolytic effect with a sufficiently pronounced stimulating (activating) effect.

The antidepressant (thymoanaleptic) effect is associated with the ability of paroxetine to selectively block the reuptake of serotonin by the presynaptic membrane, which causes an increase in the free content of this neurotransmitter in the synaptic cleft and an increase in its activity in the central nervous system.

Indications

Endogenous, neurotic and reactive depression.

Method of administration and dosage:

The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly observe the compliance of the used dosage form of a particular drug with the indications for use and the dosage regimen.

Contraindications

Simultaneous reception of MAO inhibitors and a period up to 14 days after their cancellation, hypersensitivity to paroxetine.

Precautions:

Discontinuation of paroxetine should be carried out, gradually decreasing the dose, in order to avoid withdrawal syndrome, which is manifested by dizziness, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, confusion, increased sweating.
