Each tablet contains:

Levothyroxine sodium 100 mcg

Auxiliary components:

Starch, croscarmellose, gelatin, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate.

Properties

Synthetic levorotatory isomer of thyroxine. After partial transformation into triiodothyronine (in the liver and kidneys) and transition into the cells of the body, it affects the development and growth of tissues, and metabolism. In small doses, it has an anabolic effect on protein and fat metabolism. In medium doses, it stimulates growth and development, increases tissue oxygen demand, stimulates the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, increases the functional activity of the cardiovascular system and the central nervous system. In large doses, it inhibits the production of thyrotropin-releasing hormone of the hypothalamus and thyroid-stimulating hormone of the pituitary gland. The therapeutic effect is observed after 7-12 days, during the same time the effect persists after

the drug is discontinued. The clinical effect in hypothyroidism is manifested after 3-5 days.

Indications

Hypothyroidism; euthyroidgoiter; as replacement therapy and for the prevention of recurrence of goiter after resection of the thyroid gland; thyroid cancer (after surgery); diffuse toxic goiter: after reaching the euthyroid state with antithyroid drugs (in the form of combination or monotherapy); as a diagnostic tool in the thyroid suppression test.

Method of administration and dosage:

The method of application and dosage regimen of a particular drug depends on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly observe the compliance of the used dosage form of a particular drug with indications for use and dosage regimen. Set individually depending on the indications. Apply in a dose of 12.5-200 mcg 1 time / day 20-30 minutes before meals. When conducting a differential diagnostic test of thyroid suppression — once at a dose of 3 m or within 2 weeks, 200 pg 1 time / day.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to levothyroxine sodium; untreated thyrotoxicosis; acute myocardial infarction, acute myocarditis; untreated adrenal insufficiency. With care: in diseases of the cardiovascular system — ischemic heart disease (atherosclerosis, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction in history), arterial hypertension, arrhythmias; with diabetes mellitus, severe long-term hypothyroidism, malabsorption syndrome (dose adjustment may be required).

Precautions:

Use with extreme caution in patients with cardiovascular diseases (including ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arterial hypertension). In such cases, levothyroxine sodium should be used at a low initial dose, increasing it slowly and at long intervals. In hypothyroidism caused by damage to the pituitary gland, it is necessary to find out if there is simultaneously adrenal insufficiency. In this case, GCS replacement therapy should be started before starting treatment of hypothyroidism with thyroid hormones in order to avoid the development of acute adrenal insufficiency.ln elderly patients and with a I course of hypothyroidism, treatment should be started gradually.

Side effects

Symptoms of hyperthyroidism: possible (when used in high doses, including when the dose is increased too quickly at the beginning of the course of treatment) tachycardia, palpitation, arrhythmias, angina attacks, headache, nervousness, tremor, sleep disturbances, feeling of internal anxiety, muscle weakness and cramps, weight loss, diarrhea, menstrual irregularities, vomiting.
