Composition
Each tablet contains:
Levonorgestrel 0.75 mg
Auxiliary components:
colloidal silicon dioxide, potato starch, magnesium stearate, talc, corn starch, lactose monohydrate.
Properties
Levonorgestrel is a synthetic progestogen with a contraceptive effect, pronounced progestogenic and antiestrogenic properties.
When taken orally in the recommended dosing regimen, levonorgestrel suppresses ovulation and fertilization if intercourse occurs in the pre-ovulation phase, when the possibility of fertilization is greatest. It can also cause changes in the endometrium that prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg. Increases the viscosity of the cervical secretions, which prevents the advancement of sperm.
Levonorgestrel is ineffective if implantation has already occurred.
Indications
Emergency postcoital contraception in women (after unprotected intercourse or unreliability of the contraceptive method used).
Method of administration and dosage:
Inside 0.75 mg within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. Repeated intake at the same dosage after 12 hours. Or 1.5 mg once a day within 72 hours after intercourse.
Contraindications
Tumors of the mammary glands, acute liver disease, intracranial hypertension (including a history), a history of thrombophlebitis and thromboembolism, undiagnosed bleeding from the genitals and urinary tract, diabetes mellitus complicated by angiopathy, ischemic heart disease.
Individual intolerance.
Precautions:
Side effects
Central and peripheral nervous system: intracranial hypertension, bulbospinal paralysis, headache, emotional lability, fatigue.
Cardiovascular system: thrombophilia.
Digestive system: nausea, vomiting, flatulence.
