Compound:

Beta-sitosterol 0.25%

Auxiliary components:

The base of the ointment consists of sesame oil and beeswax. In addition, MEBO includes 18 amino acids, 4 essential fatty acids, vitamins and polysaccharides in its formula.

Properties

1- Providing optimal physiological hydration necessary for regeneration and healing.

2- Anti-inflammatory effect, reduction of edema and erythema.

3- Creating an environment unfavorable for colonization by bacteria and fungi.

Indications

1- First-degree burns, in which pain and excessive drying of the skin are greatly relieved, for example, with sunburn.

2nd degree burns, superficial and deep. When properly applied, skin grafting is NOT required and regeneration occurs from hair follicles and glands in the dermis and mucosa: the outer tissues.

3 — third-degree burns to isolate the wound, reduce pain, and expedite non-surgical debridement of necrotic tissue in preparation for grafting.

Dosage and administration

1. Burns a) First degree burns: MEBO should be applied immediately after injury.

Apply a thin layer (about 1 mm thick) to the burnt area. It is best to leave the wound open, but if necessary, a light bandage can be used. Reapplication should be done 3-4 times a day.

b) Second degree burns: A thin layer of MEBO should cover the burned area, apply 3 to 4 times daily. Liquefied necrotic tissue and remnants of old MEBO should be carefully removed before reuse. It is better to leave the wound open, but if necessary, a light dressing can be used and a relatively thicker layer (about 3 mm thick) can be applied and the dressing changed twice a day.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Precautionary measures:

MEBO ointment may change its appearance during storage, especially during the hot season, but it does not lose its effectiveness.

Side effects

MEBO is of herbal origin. No side effects of the product have yet been reported, other than rare allergic reactions to sesame oil.

Storage method:

At a temperature not higher than 25 degrees.
