Properties

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), as an antioxidant, metabolic and redox regulating agent, increases the adaptive capacity of the body, enhances its resistance to infections. It takes part in the regulation of redox processes, in the metabolism of carbohydrates, amino acids, pigments and cholesterol, in the synthesis of steroid hormones, catecholamines, in the process of blood clotting. Enhances collagen synthesis, stimulates regeneration processes, normalizes capillary permeability. Regulates immunological reactions (activates the synthesis of antibodies, the C3 component of complement, interferon), promotes phagocytosis, increases the body’s resistance to infections. It has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Zinc is a structural component of biological membranes, cell receptors, proteins, and is part of more than 200 enzymatic systems. It takes part in immune and antioxidant defense reactions, blood formation, amino acid synthesis, in the preservation and transmission of genetic information. As a component of the protein that carries retinol, zinc, together with vitamin A and vitamin C, prevents the occurrence of immunodeficiency by stimulating the synthesis of antibodies and performing an antiviral effect.
