Properties
Histamine H1 receptor blocker from the group of piperidine derivatives. It has an anti-allergic effect. It is characterized by a prolonged action (up to 48 hours), which is due to the formation of active metabolites. Unlike many blockers of histamine H1 receptors, Ebastine practically does not have anticholinergic activity, it also poorly penetrates the central nervous system and does not have a pronounced sedative effect.
Indications
Allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria.
Dosage and method of use:
Children 6 to 11 years of age: 5 mg (2.5 ml) daily.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to piperidine derivatives.
Preventive measures:
Use with caution in patients with impaired liver and kidney function (in these cases, the T1 / 2 of Ebastine increases significantly).
Side effects
Possible: headache, dry mouth, drowsiness.
Rare: Abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, asthenic syndrome, drowsiness, insomnia, rhinitis, sinusitis.
