Auxiliary components:
Cetomacrogol 1000, cytosteryl alcohol, white paraffin, liquid paraffin, anhydrous citric acid, anhydrous sodium citrate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propylene glycol, purified water.
Properties
Texacort is a synthetic non-halogenated corticosteroid for external use. The esterification of the hydrocortisone molecule with a butyric acid residue (butyrate) made it possible to radically increase the activity of the drug compared to native hydrocortisone. Texacort has a rapid anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, antipruritic effect.
Indications
Superficial, non-infected skin diseases sensitive to local corticosteroids:
— dermatitis, incl. atopic, contact, seborrheic;
-eczema;
Dosage and administration
The drug is applied to the affected areas of the skin with a thin layer no more than 2 times a day. To improve penetration, the drug is applied with massaging movements. With the appearance of positive dynamics, the frequency of use of the drug can be reduced to 2-3 times a week. The dose of the drug used during the week should not exceed 30-60 g. In cases of resistant course of diseases, for example, with the localization of dense psoriatic plaques on the elbows, knees, the drug can be used under occlusive dressings.
The course of treatment with the drug in adults is up to 4 weeks. In children, the course of treatment should not exceed 7 days.
Contraindications
— hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone or auxiliary components of the drug;
— bacterial infections of the skin (including strepto- and staphyloderma, gram-negative folliculitis);
— viral infections of the skin (including herpes simplex, chicken pox, shingles);
Side effects
Local reactions: skin irritation; in rare cases, other local reactions characteristic of GCS therapy.
Systemic reactions: with prolonged use, application to large surfaces and / or the use of occlusive dressings, side effects characteristic of systemic corticosteroids may be observed. The risk of local and systemic side effects is lower than with fluorinated steroids.
