Properties
Hirudin is an anticoagulant, a 65-membered peptide found in the salivary glands of leeches and in some types of snake venom, which prevents blood clotting by inhibiting the action of the enzyme thrombin and affecting several other blood clotting factors. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, anti-thrombotic effect.
Indications
1. Bruises.
2. Muscle clamps.
3. Traumatic hematomas.
Dosage and administration
The gel is intended for external use. It should be applied with light massage movements to the desired area of the body. It is necessary to avoid getting the gel in the eyes and mucous membranes. It is forbidden to apply the gel to areas of the skin with impaired integrity.
The duration of therapy and the regimen for the use of the Extrauma drug is determined by the attending physician.
Adults are usually recommended to apply 2-3 cm of gel 2-3 times a day.
Contraindications
Extraum is not prescribed to patients with intolerance to any of the components of the gel.
The gel is not used to treat patients with disorders of the blood coagulation system.
Side effects
Extrauma gel is generally well tolerated by patients. With prolonged use, allergic reactions are possible.
