Midodrin 2.5 mg 20 tablets
Tradename
Midodrin
Midodrine
Composition
Each tablet contains:
Midodrina hydrochloride 2.5 mg
Auxiliary components:
Magnesium stearate, talc, aerosil, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, calcium hydrogen dibasic phosphate, lactose monohydrate.
Properties
Alpha-adrenergic agonist. Selectively stimulates peripheral α-adrenergic receptors of the sympathetic nervous system. It causes an increase in vascular tone, which, in turn, increases the systemic vascular resistance, increases blood pressure and prevents (with orthostatic disorders) blood stagnation in the venous circle. As a result, the BCC and blood pressure remain at a constant level, the blood supply to the organs increases, and thereby orthostatic reactions are eliminated (including morning weakness and fatigue, frequent yawning, dizziness).
Does not affect the activity of the heart, however, a reflex decrease in heart rate is possible. Does not increase the excitability of the central nervous system.
Stimulating α-adrenergic receptors located in the sphincter of the bladder, the urethra, midodrin increases their tone and has a therapeutic effect in involuntary urination.
Indications
Orthostatic dysregulation of vascular tone, constitutional hypotension, symptomatic hypotension (including during convalescence, after surgery, childbirth); hypotensive lability when the weather changes, morning weakness and a feeling of fatigue; spontaneous urination with a disorder of the function of the sphincter of the bladder.
Method of administration and dosage:
Take 1 tablet orally 2-3 times a day. The maximum daily dosage is 30 mg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to midodrin; arterial hypertension, pheochromocytoma, obliterating arterial disease, acute nephritis, severe renal failure, angle-closure glaucoma, benign prostatic hyperplasia with residual urine, mechanical obstruction of the urinary tract, hyperthyroidism.
Precautionary measures:
It should be used with caution in patients with chronic heart failure, renal and / or hepatic failure, heart rhythm disturbances.
Side effects
From the side of the cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure (including lying down), facial flushing, bradycardia.
From the urinary system: urination disorder (increased frequency or delay).
From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, insomnia, drowsiness, asthenia, paresthesia.
