Each gram of ointment contains:

mometasone furoate 1 mg

salicylic acid 50 mg

Properties

Anti-inflammatory and keratolytic combination drug.

Mometasone furoate is a glucocorticosteroid. It has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive properties. In vitro experiments have shown that mometasone furoate is a powerful inhibitor of the synthesis of three cytokines involved in the development of the inflammatory process and its maintenance: interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α).

Salicylic acid causes exfoliation of the stratum corneum of the skin.

Indications

To relieve inflammation and hyperkeratosis: in psoriasis; with atopic dermatitis; with seborrheic dermatitis.

Dosage and administration

Apply externally 1 or 2 times a day.

Contraindications

Children’s age (up to 12 years); hypersensitivity to mometasone furoate or salicylic acid; bacterial, viral (herpes simplex, chicken pox, shingles) or fungal infections of the skin, rosacea or perioral dermatitis, post-vaccination reactions, tuberculosis, syphilis.

Carefully:

Diabetes mellitus, inflammation of the peripheral vessels, irritation or infection of the skin, as well as during pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects

Local reactions: mild or moderate burning at the site of application, itching, skin atrophy, peeling, irritation, skin maceration, dry skin, folliculitis, acne, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, atrophic streaks on the skin, prickly heat, secondary infections , hypertrichosis.

Systemic reactions: in children, suppression of the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system is possible, including the development of Cushing’s syndrome.
