Properties
Combined antihypertensive drug, has a long-term hypotensive effect. The effect is due to the action of three components: a beta1-blocker (atenolol) and two diuretics (chlorthalidone and
amiloride hydrochloride).
Atenolol is a cardioselective beta1-blocker. Selectivity decreases with increasing dose. Atenolol does not have intrinsic sympathomimetic and membrane stabilizing effects. Like other beta-blockers, it has a negative inotropic effect, slows down heart rate.
Indications
Arterial hypertension.
Dosage and administration
Take one or half a tablet orally in the morning.
Contraindications
— severe bradycardia;
— cardiogenic shock;
— severe arterial hypotension;
Side effects
Since the cardiovascular system: bradycardia, increased symptoms of heart failure.
From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: confusion, dizziness, headache.
From the hemopoietic system: leukopenia, purpura, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, eosinophilia.
