Properties
Synthetic analog of the pineal gland hormone (pineal gland) melatonin.
It has an adaptogenic, sedative, hypnotic effect.
Normalizes circadian rhythms. Increases the concentration of GABA and serotonin in the midbrain and hypothalamus, changes the activity of pyridoxalkinase involved in the synthesis of GABA, dopamine and serotonin. It is known that GABA is an inhibitory mediator in the CNS, and a decrease in the activity of serotonergic mechanisms may be important in the pathogenesis of depressive states and disorders.
Indications
With sleep disorders, incl. caused by a violation of the «sleep-wakefulness» rhythm, such as desynchronosis (a sharp change in time zones).
Dosage and administration
The optimal dosing regimen is determined by the doctor. Compliance of the dosage form of a particular drug with indications for use and dosing regimen should be strictly observed.
Individual. Stick the film soluble in the oral cavity on the tongue at a dose of 1.5 mg 1 time / day 30-40 minutes before bedtime.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to melatonin; severe renal dysfunction (CC <30 ml / min), autoimmune diseases (no clinical data), liver failure, pregnancy, breastfeeding, age up to 18 years (efficacy and safety have not been established).
With caution: renal failure (CC> 30 ml / min), advanced age.
Precautionary measures:
Side effects
From the hemopoietic system: rarely — leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.
From the immune system: the frequency is unknown — hypersensitivity reactions.
From the side of metabolism: rarely — hypertriglyceridemia, hypokalemia, hyponatremia.
