Calcium polycarbophil 625 mg (equivalent to polycarbophil 500 mg)

Auxiliary components:

Magnesium stearate, silicone dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium.

Properties

Polycarbophil calcium is a synthetic hydrophilic agent that increases the volume of intestinal contents. Upon entering the intestine, they can split off excess water into its lumen. An increase in intraluminal pressure caused by an increase in fecal volume stimulates motility and accelerates intestinal transit. Being a synthetic polymer, it is not metabolized under the influence of intestinal microflora. An increase in intra-intestinal pressure leads to the appearance of coordinated downward waves of contractions and relaxation of the intestinal wall towards the anus, which provides the effect of moving the intestinal contents in the distal direction.

Indications

It is used for changes in bowel function that last 2 weeks or longer.

Constipation lasting no more than 1 week.

Dosage and administration

Adults take 2 tablets with a large glass of water, do not exceed 8 tablets per day.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

Precautionary measures:

Take the drug 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking other drugs.
