Composition

Each tablet contains:

Ofloxacin 200 mg

Inactive ingredients:

Lactose monohydrate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.

Properties

A broad-spectrum antimicrobial drug from the group of fluoroquinolones. It acts on the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase, which ensures supercoiling and, thus, the stability of bacterial DNA (destabilization of DNA chains leads to their death). It has a bactericidal effect.

Indications

— infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (bronchitis, pneumonia);

— infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (sinusitis, pharyngitis, otitis media, laryngitis);

— infectious and inflammatory diseases of the skin and soft tissues;

Dosage and administration

Doses are selected individually depending on the location and severity of the infection, as well as the sensitivity of microorganisms, the general condition of the patient and the function of the liver and kidneys.The drug is prescribed orally for adults — 200-800 mg / day, the frequency of use — 2 times / day. The course of treatment is 7-10 days. Doses up to 400 mg/day may be given as a single dose, preferably in the morning.

In acute gonorrhea — 400 mg once.

Tablets should be taken whole with water, before or during a meal.

Contraindications

— deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;

epilepsy (including history);

-reduction of the convulsive threshold (including after a traumatic brain injury, stroke or inflammatory processes in the central nervous system);

Side effects

From the digestive system: anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain (including gastralgia).

From the side of the central nervous system: headache, dizziness, uncertainty of movements, tremor, convulsions, numbness and paresthesia of the extremities.

From the musculoskeletal system: tendonitis, myalgia, arthralgia, tenosynovitis, tendon rupture.

Storage

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
