Composition
Each tablet contains:
Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction — 1000 mg
Corresponds to:
Diosmin 90% — 900mg.
Flavonoids expressed as hesperidin 10% — 100mg.
Inactive ingredients:
Sodium starch glycolate, microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, magnesium stearate, talc.
Properties
Flavonoids in Daflon work by blocking the action of chemical messengers (prostaglandins, thromboxane A2) which cause inflammation (swelling) of the veins. This improves blood flow in the veins and restores normal vein function.
Indications
Treatment of venous circulation disorders (heaviness, pain and fatigue of the legs). •Treatment of functional symptoms associated with acute attacks of hemorrhoids.
Treatment of menorrhagia and premenstrual syndrome.
Dosage and administration
-for venous blood circulation — 2 tablets per day (1 tablet at noon and 1 in the evening, with meals) or as directed by a physician.
-for acute hemorrhoids — 6 tablets per day for 4 days, then 4 tablets per day for the next 3 days with meals as directed by a physician.
Side effects
General: diarrhea, dyspepsia (difficulty digestion), nausea, vomiting.
Uncommon: colitis (inflammation of the large intestine).
Rare: dizziness, headaches, discomfort, rash (sudden redness in patches), itching (skin reactions such as itching) and hives (allergic reaction that looks like small red spots).
