Composition
Dried aluminium hydroxide 44 mg/ml
Magnesium hydroxide 39 mg/ml
Other ingredients:
Sorbitol liquid (non-crystallising) (E 420), mannitol (E 421),hydrochloric acid, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), citric acid monohydrate, simethicone emulsion 30%, saccharin sodium, hydrogen peroxide solution 35%, peppermint oil, strong sodium hypochlorite solution, purified water.
Properties
Mucogel is a potent antacid preparation with the surface anaesthetic oxethazaine.
The rapid relief obtained in symptomatic treatment if gastritis and oesophagitis is due to oxethazaine, aided by the physicochemical properties of dried aluminium hydroxide gel and
magnesium hydroxide which ensure potent antacid properties and a protective mucosal coating.

Gastritis
Esophagitis
Peptic ulcer
Dosage and administration
1 -2 teaspoonful 15 minutes before meals 4 times daily and at bedtime.
Shake well before use.
Side effects
The most common side effects are chalky taste, diarrhea, constipation, and allergic reaction. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects.
Contraindications
Mucogel should not be used in children less than 12 years of age. Oral use. Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients
Should not be used in patients who are severely debilitated or suffering from kidney failure.
